Staten Island & .... Valparasio News

Played for the hometown crowd last night. Last time I did a gig here on 'the Island' was a few years back and I chose a place that was better suited for drinking than it was for listening to music. That wasn't the case last night and I found it much more enjoyable. I actually had a great time playing for my 'peeps' and everyone else in attendance. Of course having my Mom in the front row was a little disconcerting because I had to watch my language but all in all, it was an extremely enjoyable evening. I look forward to returning to The Cup sometime in the not too distant future.

I'm afraid I have some bad news regarding the one show that was on my list of 'can't wait to do'. Under sever pressure from Meat Loaf and with much protest and pleading on my part, I've had to cancel the Valparasio show ... FOR NOW. As some of you might know Patti Russo, the main singer in Meat's band has decided to move on.
This on the eve of an extremely important promotional tour with gig's in London, N.Y. and Toronto, not to mention, radio and television appearances has thrown the schedule into utter chaos. We've spent the last month auditioning replacements and just yesterday made a choice from over 15 absolutely stunning girls. This in addition to adding another band member who will be playing Saxaphone and various other instruments on stage has made it impossible for me to leave NY for the next 12 days. Everyday from now until the 29th of September will be a rehearsal day to get the new band members up to speed and to create what will be the new show. It's a daunting task and one that needs total concentration on everyones part. Therefore, I was told in no uncertain terms that I would not be able to miss one day of rehearsals.
HOWEVER ... and heres the part that I need anyone who has a ticket for the Valparasio show to please consider ... I WILL BE RESCHEDULING THIS SHOW. I respectfully ask all ticket holders to this show to please NOT REFUND YOUR TICKETS just yet. I'm currently trying to work out the next available date to do the show.
Paul Braun, the gentleman who promotes these One Night Jam Sessions at the theatre has gone above and beyond the call of duty to make the night succesful. He's a wonderful guy who didn't deserve to get caught up in my scheduling conflict and I'm doing everything I can to assure him that once the show is rescheduled, all of you that have already bought tickets will be there for the next available date.
I realize this is a lot to ask, not only from the people who live within driving distance from Valparasio, but also from any of you who were planning on traveling from out of town to this show. You're patience and consideration will be rewarded in the only way I know how ... new and better music.
